The Oteiza Museum is preparing the catalogue raisonné of Jorge Oteiza’s work. Its author will be the sculptor, Txomin Badiola, a great expert on Oteiza’s work and curator of the exhibitions, Oteiza: Experimental proposition, held in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao in 1988, as well as the exhibition, Oteiza. Myth and Modernism, held in the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Queen Sofia National Art Centre in Madrid and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, between 2004 and 2005. The catalogue raisonné that is being prepared in collaboration with the Conservation Department of the Oteiza Museum, was begun in November 2007 and will take three years to complete.

The aim of the catalogue raisoné is to become the benchmark for analysing and interpreting Jorge Oteiza’s artistic work, and will include all of the artist’s plastic output.

The production of the Catalogue Raisonné has been preceded by comprehensive research on Oteiza’s work. Any institution or individual with information about Oteiza’s work or examples in their possession will be able to send details of these to the following e-mail address so that they can be included in the catalogue: conservacion@museooteiza.org.
